After several days of wind and rain, the weather finally cleared just in time for the annual Smoke Hollow Farm Open House, Sunday, May 1. An event for old friends and new faces, dozens of visitors came to see owner Doreen Weston ride and demonstrate her string of show horses, including Jet Lee, Capsaicin and Tale of the Cat. Instructor Bucky Brannon assisted with the show horses and taught numerous brave riders who allowed the visitors to observe their riding lessons. Denise and Kasey gave pony rides to an unending line of excited youngsters. Kelly Rankin mounted her first real show horse and delighted the crowd with an exhibition on "Peanut." The smile on her face said it all.
It was a great day for Saddlebreds at Smoke Hollow Farm. Many new people were introduced to the "horse America made," and reservations were taken for lessons and summer camp.
